If you click on the link above, one of two things will happen:
See the bird at the Cornell
- it will download to your computer (so then double-click the file to play it), OR
- it will open a dialog to play right away. Depends on your operating system and settings.
You will probably need headphones to hear the voice clearly. Or turn the speaker volume up. ...
"A few Eurasian Collared-Doves were introduced to the Bahamas in the 1970s. They made their way
to Florida by the 1980s and then rapidly colonized most of North America." -- allaboutbirds.org
Thanks to Alan Anderson (Illinois) and Jim Lytjen (California) for information
helping me decide this was the bird... based on iBird and Peterson iPhone recordings.
Thanks to klunky Facebook which doesn't seem to have an option to simply
upload audio files from a regular computer! We can upload HD video but no
good old-fashioned audio. If someone knows different, let me know please.
(There are a couple iPhone apps that will record audio and upload it from
the phone to FB, like "FaceMic" and "AudioPost for Facebook" but they don't
have the high-sensitivity recording capability. Not that my recording is
all that high quality either. :)
